Do you need a static IP address
You need one if something outside your building has to reach something inside it — otherwise you do not.
When do you actually need a static IP?
A static IP is an address on the internet that never changes. You need one when something outside your building has to connect in — a server, cameras you view remotely, a VPN endpoint. If your staff only connect out to the internet, the dynamic address included with your plan is fine.

What it costs
Across the industry a single static IP typically runs about $15 to $40 a month on top of your plan. Some business plans include one. It is a small line item, but check whether it is bundled or added. Two quotes can look identical until you do.
If you need more than one
Static addresses are sold in blocks, and blocks come in powers of two. Ask for five usable addresses and you will be given a block of eight. Ask for thirteen and you will be given sixteen. Some of each block is taken up by the network itself, so a block always yields fewer usable addresses than its size suggests.
Before you order
Count what needs to be reachable
One address covers a whole office in most cases. You rarely need one per device.
Ask whether one is included
If it is, that changes the comparison between two plans.
Check reverse DNS if you send mail
Without it, mail from your own server is likely to be rejected.
Ask for the addresses in writing at install
Along with the subnet mask and gateway. Your IT person will need all three.
